Head down
to
Dows Lake Pavilion to pick up the prearranged skate rentals
for your group, and spend a few hours skating on the world’s longest skating
rink, the
Rideau Canal. (If you’ve timed the itinerary around
Winterlude in February, the massive snow sculptures on Dows Lake deserve
extra viewing time.) Warm up with a quick hot chocolate and
Beavertail
pastry sold by vendors at various spots along the Rideau Canal.
A unique-to-Ottawa experience!

Travel to
Old Chelsea, QC, just a short 10 minute drive north, for a nutritious
lunch at
Gerry & Isobel’s Country Pleasures. After lunch,
use the prearranged ski rentals from Gerry & Isobel’s to go cross-country
skiing on one of many groomed trails in
Gatineau Park. An
alternative is to head to
Carman Trails Outdoor Centre for an afternoon
of snow-shoeing in Gatineau Park, with the option of herbalist interpretation.
After a day of fresh winter air, sleep will come easily for your clients!
Day two will be another active one with a chance to try dog-sledding;
travel north 30 minutes to Wakefield, QC for a full day of winter adventure.
Expeditions Radisson offers full day dog-sledding excursions, and
provides everything that is needed, including the services of a musher,
related equipment, a hot lunch and trail snacks.
