This is a good opportunity to positively enhance the attendees’
impressions of the event and host organization. In a tropical location,
for example, ensure that fruit baskets are a welcome feature of each
room. Does the hotel provide spa quality shampoos? An evening turndown
service with a fresh baked cookie or gourmet chocolate? Does each room
feature robes and slippers? Flat screen TV’s with DVD players?
A great view? Any extra amenity adds to the guests’ sense of well
being. Always try and negotiate with the hotel to include as many extras
as possible as part of the base price, but accept that it may be necessary
to pay for these services.
