Tents can be rented for small
and medium events
being held in outdoor venues. They offer protection from both rain showers
and the sun, but will not stand up to strong winds, storms, or sleet.
A tent can enhance the sense of festivity and luxury at an outdoor event,
especially if the natural locale is spectacular, or it can provide extra
room, plus a change of mood/purpose, when mixed with the use of hall,
historic building, et cetera.
Tents need to be booked well in advance. Check with the company to
see how much time is required for set up and take down, to ensure that
the rental timeframe of the event’s location allows for this.
The tent company’s staff will assemble and disassemble the tent.
Make sure that the company anchors the tent, as wind loft under the
tent can literally bring an event
crashing down. Anything needed inside the tent, such as flooring,
tables, chairs, linens, tableware, etc., will need to be rented separately.
If the event does not include an indoor site, portable washrooms will
need to be rented. If possible, avoid the classic portable, and see
if there are any companies in the area renting out washroom trailers,
such as those used on movie sets. There is also the possibility that
weather conditions
will make it necessary to cancel the use of the tent. A backup venue
should always be arranged.
