Advantages & Disadvantages
|
Any location will have positive and negative points. The trick is finding
the site that best fits the objectives and budget of the organization/individual
holding the event. For example, a staff team-building event for an
auto
dealership will probably have very different needs than one for an
upscale
salon/spa.
A day at a go-kart track followed by burgers, with
transportation
back and forth in a motor coach booked for the occasion is more likely
to be enjoyed by the staff at the
auto
dealership than those of the salon.
Similarly, booking meeting facilities and accommodations
for a national or international convention
may be cheaper in non-destination city, but the attendant rise in airfare
costs and the lack of convenience in arriving and departing flights
will have an impact on the number of attendees. Space at an exhibition
center may initially seem cheaper than that of a hotel, but the cost
of all the extra rentals needed may change that balance.
